A product isn’t finished until it’s labeled correctly.  Isthmus has integrated vision-inspection into a wide variety of projects across many industries, most commonly medical/pharmaceutical and consumer products.  Successful installations of vision-inspection technologies in assembly processes have been very beneficial in helping us adapt that expertise to projects that require these same technologies further downstream in the production & packaging process.  Vision-inspection of completed products may require implementation of a variety of vision and controls capabilities to handle various types of labels/part marking:

• Printed
• Dot-Peen
• Laser-marked

Our software engineers are adept at configuring a system to read a variety of label types, including data matrix and linear barcode.  They are also experienced in the integration of printing and code verification capabilities.  Our machines have handled product inspection rates up to 350 ppm.  For those customers who must meet strict 21 CFR Part 11 guidelines, we offer expertise in key technologies to help ensure that compliance:

• Integration of track & trace software to ensure traceability
• Optical Character Recognition and Verification (OCR/OCV)

Isthmus looks at the specific requirements of each project to determine the best approach to the vision requirement needs of that customer.   And, as always, we are there through project run-off and start-up to make sure the final system delivers the correct product – including the label.
